I’m Julie and I am a creative designer based in Brighton.

In 2006 I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art at the University of Edinburgh with a BA Hons in Design & Applied Arts.

My career began in fashion and accessories. After 5 years in London designing for brands, I founded my own jewellery label wholesaling globally to customers including Harvey Nichols, ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Swarovski and Selfridges for 7 years. I opened a flagship jewellery boutique off Oxford Street, London and launched pop up retail spaces across London.

After having my first child, I relocated to Brighton and in 2018 I began working freelance, drawing from my experience in creative direction, product design and branding. I've been working remotely ever since.

I’m a versatile designer, able to ideate quickly. My experience allows me to be confident in the direction I take when I work. This allows me to provide customers with initial concepts quickly from which projects can evolve and begin to get exciting. I’m passionate about what I do, I love to bring ideas to life for my clients.

My background in fashion, luxury and retail enables me to lead creative projects that engage and excite customers. With this insight, I deliver beautifully presented projects with an emphasis on detail. I work with an aware consumer trends, folding them in with classic design principles to create work that will stand the test of time.

In my product design work, I love to create desirable products and render beautiful visuals, allowing in house product approval processes to be communicated quickly, speeding up production and sampling processes.

  • I love yoga, sea swimming and hanging out with my family. I’m happy when I’m by the sea, I love wild fires and outdoor meals with friends. I like to be creative in my personal life; I doodle create things that are useless but beautiful. I like to cook, especially healthy vegetarian food. I still make jewellery when I find the time and love exploring exhibitions, pop ups and immersive art spaces.

  • Personally, I want to strike a brilliant balance between work, leisure and family. Professionally I’d like to work on projects with brands and businesses who have open and flexible outlooks and are prepared to experiment and trust in creativity. I’d like to continue to explore how to intergrate AI in design to allow for more creativity elsewhere, automating out the mundane and allowing time for the human elements in design practices that cannot be replicated.

I’d like to further my knowledge in animation and 3D modelling and painting software.
